I wonder

I wonder if people realize how easy it would be (or is) for Isis militants to infiltrate the EU by "fleeing" along with all the others who are doing so.  I also wonder what Isis thinks it is accomplishing by destroying ancient buildings.  I'm planning a trip to Germany next year....I may have to rethink that.

I think I might consider holding off on a trip to that area for a while. Things may settle down before then, but for now it seems as though they are going through a turbulant time.

Let's hope the ISIS folks don't decide to make things even worse than they are!

I don't know how the US does it now, but they used to screen new arrivals very well before letting them in. Some people I know spent 2. 5 months in a Boston detention cell just because they came from a part of Turkey near the Syrian border. They had no evidence except that, but made sure to check them out completely. Don't think may terrorist will get through -if they are still screening like they used to.

I'm wondering the same thing, Momlady. And why should we just take them, or anyone else, willy-nilly without doing some background checking? Repeat offenders who come across our southern borders are enough of a problem, aren't they, without bringing those from across the world who don't embrace our lifestyle or understand our ethics? There are plenty of countries much closer to where the problem is located who are doing nothing to help. And who is helping us with our own "immigrant" problem?
Ok, sorry, I'll get down off my soapbox now. Thanks for letting me rant. And yes, I'm concerned about what effect these migrations will have on the rest of the world, especially those countries who depend heavily on tourism.
