Hi there.....

So kind of you to stop by....I do enjoy the company.

Nope, no post yesterday. I had other things to do and, amazingly, actually accomplished most of them. I made a pair of earrings, cut batik squares for the guild exchange, put up lights outside, and completed a full section of pattern on the shawl I'm knitting. Yeah, I know, knitting, how boring. Not when you are knitting lace. The pattern is 16 rows and takes some time to do. I need to get this one done 'cause I'm going to knit another one of the same pattern and need to get both done by the end of January. I figure if I can get one section done a day, maybe two, I'll be able to finish on time. Not that I don't have other stuff that needs doing; oh, no, just thoroughly cleaning and decorating the house for Yule since I have family coming this year (in the past few years the small artificial tree on the ledge in front of the fireplace sufficed). Along with that I need to make more earrings since they seem to be selling almost as fast as I can make them (yay!). Then there's the purchasing and wrapping of gifts....some of which have to be mailed to out of town family. Geez, I'm getting tired, just thinking about it.
So off I go, once more into the breach!

It's the day after "Black Friday" and I have survived. Maybe that's because I didn't go anywhere except the local Ace Hardware for some lithium grease (no comments, please) for the garage, Walgreen's so daughter could get some pictures printed, and last, but not least, Publix for grocery shopping. I don't do "Black Friday" because I don't care to get pushed, trampled, or spoken to rudely by some fat assed bitch who just has to have whatever I might have been reaching for. I never did understand how people (mostly women) can get up at 4:00 in the morning just to get an extra 20% off some item she believes she or someone she is shopping for just has to have.
No, I had a nice quiet day with daughter and grandson. Did get a couple of pairs of earrings made. Need to make more for the upcoming Winterfest which is next Saturday. I seem to have a shrinking inventory at the gallery....which is good, mind you....just that I'm trying to keep up and can't seem to. Oh well, I'll just have to keep making them, won't I?
Hopefully those who did brave the malls yesterday came out of it unscathed. I wish them well...better them than me.

I'm full of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, mashed turnips and carrots (yes they are mashed together) and sauteed green beans. Oh, and I can't forget the homemade bread. My daughter is such a GOOD cook. Apple pie and key lime pie followed a little later. As I said, I'm full.....still and it's the day after! However, we'll be having eggs, bacon, and mashed potato cakes for brunch today. Daughter has never made mashed potato cakes so I am going to show her. Can't let the potatoes go to waste now, can we?
It's been a lovely time. Laid back, relaxed, and quiet (except for the occasional noisy sound effects from the evil genius). K and I had fun making some crafty stuff (Georgia "pine cones") which I hope she is successful in selling on ETSY. If T picks up the evil genius this afternoon (he said he'd take him for the weekend) K and I will be cleaning the evil genius' room. I only hope the dust dinosaurs and mess faeries don't overcome us.
And now it's on to make potato cakes!

It's Thanksgiving and I'm here at my daughter's to enjoy her company as well as that of my grandson, the evil genius. I am so very thankful for them. There will be good food and a friend is coming with her son to partake also. We'll watch the parade which is being tivo'd so we can fast forward through all the claptrap that isn't the actual parade. It's getting so there is more comment than parade. What a shame! It's a beautiful sunny day. So much better than the gray, drizzly days we've been having. The boys can play outside and get rid of some of the unending energy they seem to have.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

My neck hurts. I don't know if I slept in a bad position or if it's from sitting in the dentist chair getting worked on. I do know that when my mouth was numb it was difficult to swallow so I may have inadvertently pulled a muscle. That would be weird, pulling a muscle while trying to swallow. I can feel it though when I swallow now. If it continues I'm going to call the dentist and see what he thinks. He'll probably poo poo it. It's difficult to drive like this, especially when I have to look both ways at a stop. Where are the pain killers when you need them?
