Unbelievable

Yesterday I had to break down and go to the "Urgent" Care office next to my doctor's office.  When I woke up from the anesthesia this last Thursday I had a horrible sore throat and thought it was from the O2 they'd given me and would go away.  Well, it didn't.  It kept feeling as though I had something on the back of my tongue.  I looked in the mirror yesterday morning and, lo and behold, saw tiny white globs on my uvula (that little dangly thing in the back of your mouth).  Uh huh, strep.  Ordinarily I would have waited until today and called my doctor's office but, with the holiday coming up, I figured the sooner I started antibiotics the better.  So I went and sat with other folks who had various ailments to see the PA at the Urgent Care.  She verified strep.  Said she didn't even have to do a swab.  Gave me a 'script for a Z-pack.  What I want to know is where in hell did I get the strep from?  Was it from the hospital?  Or was it brewing before I had the procedure on Thursday?  This time of year who knows.  To top it off she told me I have fluid behind my ear drums which is indicative of allergies.  At this time of year?  Is that what's causing my cough?  So I'll be getting some allergy medication after I make all my Christmas deliveries (I'm past the giving it to others stage).
Like I said, unbelievable.
Y'all have a marvelous week.

Get well! Maybe you are allergic to winter?

Sixbears, I think you may be right. Maybe I should think about going to Florida or the Caribbean?

A very unwelcome gift this time of the year...or anytime, for that matter! Take care of yourself, my dear friend! We need ya here and healthy!

Allergies are kicking up like crazy down here on the coast this year. Never seen them so bad.
Grandson takes an OTC allergy medication every night. Hate to see that as he's only 7, but otherwise he's all stuffy and snotty.
