Last week

Last week's endeavors

It's been made easier to upload pictures so I thought I would show what I made last week.  The one in front is sold already.  I plan to make more as I think the design is quite striking.  Two are going in the other gallery as part of my display.  Hope they sell also.  The one with red and black was the most difficult and would be a challenge to do again.  It is supposed to be square....it is, sort of.  In making baskets, square is difficult for me.  More later....maybe.

Learning

I'll be away starting tomorrow afternoon.  I'm going to be at the William Holland Lapidary School learning some new techniques in basket making.  Yes, I know, the name says lapidary.  Way back when husbands would bring their wives with them and while they took classes in lapidary stuff the wives had nothing to do if they didn't also take a class.  That's where the basket class came in.  It gave the wives a class also.  Anyway, that's where I'll be for the next 6 days so I won't be writing anything.  I'll have my I-pad with me but time will be a factor.  And since Hermit Jim keeps sending nasty weather this way I'm glad I'll be inside (just kidding, Jim).  I keep trying to tell Mama Nature that we really don't need so much rain all at the same time but she's not listening to me.
I have someone coming to house sit and take care of Cleo, my kitteh.  She gets lonesome when I'm gone.
Y'all take care and remember:  Closed minds need closed mouths.

Target practice

We've had a couple of really nice days.  The peas, for the most part, survived the last deluge.  Last week I took a gun safety course and will be going to the local police range today to practice shooting my little .38.  Luckily I have some ammo because it's scarcer than hen's teeth.  I just may have to start gathering more as it becomes available.  I still have some hollow points but will definitely save those to keep in the revolver here.  If I have to shoot somebody I might as well make it count.  Hopefully the weather will hold today since I think the range is outdoors and it isn't pleasant trying to zone in on a target through rain drops.  I'm thinking of buying a .22 since ammo for that caliber seems to be more available.
Y'all have a gorgeous day and remember:  guns don't kill people, people who hold them do.
