It seems that's all I did yesterday after getting home. I answered one call, had a bit of lunch and took a nap....a long one. Woke up, had some dinner and watch a little boob tube, then went to bed and slept....all night. Guess I was tired. Today is catching up day. Catching up on mail, that is. Hopefully there won't be a boat load of it. Then there's the unpacking and laundry to do. It's a good day for it, rainy and gray. What a welcome home. At least I saw some daffodils in bloom yesterday as well as some trees starting to bud out. If tomorrow is nice I think I'll go outside and get some weeding done. I need the exercise.....not that I didn't get any on the trip. Most people gain 1 to 1 1/2 pounds per day. I managed to not gain. Although I tried to get a mile in every day it wasn't always possible, but I did hoof it at the different ports so we'll see when I get on the scales this morning if I actually lost a pound or two.
Guess I'd better get a move on. The suitcases aren't going to unpack themselves. Y'all have a calm day and remember: We can't cure the world of sorrows but we can choose to live in joy....Joseph Campbell

Goin' home
Well, I'm well on my way home. I've stopped for the night as I'm so tired I can't see straight. I was up at 4:30a.m. to answer Mother Nature's call and couldn't go back to sleep. My body thinks it's an hour ahead of what it really is because of the time change down south and further east in the caribbean. It'll only take about 3 1/2 hours to get home tomorrow. Now if only the room would quit moving I might get my land legs back. Guess I'll get rocked to sleep tonight.
Y'all have a pleasant evening and sweet dreams.

Heading home
We are at sea today, heading for Half Moon Cay. We'll be there all day tomorrow and then it's on to Ft. Lauderdale. I'm not sure I'm ready to go home. This trip has been both educational and relaxing (although you wouldn't know it by the circles under my eyes). I have a bit of a tan, but lying in the sun is not my thing. At any rate, I guess maybe I just want to escape for a little while longer.
Y'all have a great day and remember: Life is a four-letter word.

Here I am in sunny, warm Florida trying to forge my way through a chicken salad sandwich and cucumber salad from C.R. Chicks...a small place that serves only chicken....located across the road from where I'm staying tonight. I'm not going to be able to finish the sandwich, it's TOO BIG. It's ginormous. So I'll eat what I can and regret anything I have to toss. I'm not the guy on Man v.Food who could probably demolish the sandwich in the blink of an eye. I'm determined to eat at least half.
Tomorrow I hope to visit with my brother for a bit before heading to Ft. Lauderdale to board ship. I haven't seen him in a year so it'll be nice to catch up. He lives not far from here. I think he chose to live here because there are no state income taxes and it's warm and there's good boating, etc. He used to live in NJ. Can't say as I blame him but when I lived down here I missed the change of seasons too much. Where I am now there's a change each season and the winter doesn't last all that long (although I don't think I could prove that this year).
I may not do much, if any, posting while I'm away. The 'net is expensive on board ship and I won't have time while in port. We'll see.
In the meantime y'all have a good month of Feblueberry (as my daughter calls it. I call it Febru-ugly). Stay warm and know that Spring is out there somewhere and will arrive eventually.

Up early this morning. Have a doctor's appointment and have to go fasting. My stomach says it wants feeding. Sorry, tummy, not yet. Just hope my blood sugar doesn't crash before I get there. I'll be taking coffee (with sugar and cream) with me along with a "granola" bar. As soon as the blood is drawn I'm slamming them down.
I'm asking a favor of y'all. I have two friends who need your positive thoughts and prayers. One is in her 70's. She fell the other day and broke (and I mean BROKE) her left elbow. It has to be replaced and that will be done next Wednesday. Please send healing thoughts her way.
My other friend is having a heart catherization tomorrow. He's in his 50's (I think....I never asked) and not the kind of person who likes to be sedentary. He has helped me out many a time and he and his wife are always there if I need them. Please send good thoughts his way. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he doesn't need any kind of surgery (although with a Southern diet it wouldn't surprise me if bypass is necessary). Since I'm going to be away I won't be here for them. My thoughts will be, though. I appreciate all positive vibes sent their way.
Guess I'd better get my shower, etc. so y'all have a really good day. Something to think about: It is a terrible thing to see and yet have no vision.....Helen Keller

Things to do today: 1. Check mouse traps (a few baited with peanut butter were put out). The little bugger chewed its way into the house down in the basement (in the door frame). My favorite pest control person plugged up the hole.
2. Check and clear, if necessary, the overflow pipe in the pond.
3. Breathe
4. Do some more cleaning
5. Breathe
I'm getting so excited I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas and Santa Claus. Must......stay.....busy.
Y'all have a great and wonder filled day and answer me this: If the plural for mouse is mice, why isn't the plural for house hice? The plural for goose is geese but the plural for moose isn't meese?

There's a mouse in my house. I saw it a couple of nights ago. I followed to where it went and couldn't find it. Where it went was a dead end so where did it go? I couldn't see a mouse hole and there was nowhere for it to hide. I have a magic mouse! I knew there was a mouse in the house from the empty sunflower seed hulls in the basement (I promptly took the bag of seed out of the basement and threw them off the porch for the birds to enjoy). Mouse somehow found its way upstairs and now consumes something in my cupboard I suppose, although I can't find any damage to anything...yet. My favorite pest control person is coming over to set some traps. Can't have a mouse running rampant in the house while I'm away.
Today is a good day to clean. I'm going to start upstairs and work my way down. Tomorrow I'll finish, I hope. I have nervous energy 'cause I'll be leaving soon and can't wait to be in the sunshine and away.
Y'all have a gracious day and remember: Nobody knows the exact age of the human race but everyone agrees it's old enough to know better.
