Thoughts

I sure do wish that some of the people I used to follow here would come back.  Guess they went to another social medium.  Oh well, at least I still have a few to read.
I have to wonder what ISIS thinks it's accomplishing by destroying ancient buildings and monuments.  And what is China thinking?  Really?
Thank goodness I grew up when I did.  I don't know how many years I have left but at least the majority of the life I've had didn't have to put up with the madness that's out there now.  I fear for my grandchildren and the life they may have to look forward to.  If things don't change Orwell and Ayn Rand will have truly predicted the future.
Were you of the age would you bring a child into this world as it is today in hopes that s/he might be able to change things?

Seems to me that more and more of the bloggers we got used to are falling by the wayside. Better things to do, ya reckon?

I don't know that I would bring a child into the world as it sit today. Thank gtoodness it wasn't this crazy when we were younger!

I'm still blogging, but I've made a point to stay off Facebook. There are only so many hours in the day.

Back in the 80s it wasn't considered a good time to bring kids into the world either, but we had faith and were blessed with three daughters. Now they have children of their own. I figure every day they spend on this earth is a good one.

HJ..I agree.
Sixbears...the eighties are a blur to me. I was busy raising my two children I guess. My hope for those who are young today is that they are able to persevere in adversity instead of giving in.

Hey Momlady ~
I know my childhood was much more innocent than my children's, but I simply cannot imagine what the future will hold for my grands. Having just turned 5 last week, my Henry has a much wider appreciation of electronics than I will ever have, but we still try to keep him grounded with "Go Fish" and "Old Maid", reading from real books as well as tablets, and finding pictures in clouds. I guess our parents felt the same way about us, with the longhaired Beatles and loose-hipped Elvis.
Yes, where are the bloggers?? Many on Bubba Hermit's seem to have last posted a year or so ago ... I'm still here, commenting for y'all, not posting on my own.
