Rain, sweet rain

I woke up in the wee hours this morning to answer Mother Nature's call and heard the sweet sound of rain.  Not gully washing rain but soft, gentle rain.  I don't know how long it lasted.  Don't think it was very long since the front steps didn't look too wet.  The sky looks like it's clearing.  Hopefully the rain went North to where all the wildfires are.  Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to clean the gutters that are full of leaves. I was planning on doing that today.  I really need to get that done before real winter sets in.  When I looked out my window I saw a couple of birds finding food in the front gutter.  Every once in a while I can hear them pecking away, getting whatever it is they get.  If it clears up...which it looks like it's going to do...I'll ask a friend to spot me while I climb the ladder.  Don't want to break anything before my trip next month.  The best choice would be to hire someone to do it for me.  I'll give that serious consideration.
Y'all have a bright day and ask yourself.....Why do I have to press 1 for English?  Has America moved?

I'm glad you finally got some rain, no matter how little there was.

Careful on that ladder...don't want to break anything important!

Decided to pay someone else to do it.

Good for you, Momlady. Both on the rain and decision to hire someone to clean those gutters for you - nasty job anyway.
And yes, I agree about the language. Even Canada has 2 official languages, English and French. You have to take their citizenship test in one of those 2, but ours? Not so much from what I understand ...maybe about 40 choices? Dumb!

Best wishes for more rain, after the gutters are done...

Hope you get the rain you need. We got enough up here in NH to end our drought, at least in the north. More in the forecast, but often it's mixed with snow.

Keep an eye on those fire conditions. Thing can get ugly quickly.
