Meetings

Yesterday I was at an all day board meeting during which I basically just sat and listened.  Most of it is over my head but every once in a while I would interject a comment or question.  The only reason I'm on this board is because the president of said board wants me to "watch her back".  Most meetings that's what I do if she has to introduce something that may be unpleasant but necessary.  I'm not very patient when it comes to items on the agenda being discussed to death without getting anywhere.  And it's amazing how quickly said item is totally lost while comments or discussion goes in a totally different direction.  That's kinda where I come in.  I'll raise my hand and ask if we can get back to the main point.  Do I get dirty looks?  Sometimes.  But sometimes people don't realize they've gone totally away from what needs to be taken care of.
Today is a continuation of yesterday.  I'm hoping it doesn't last all day again.  I do know that not everyone who was there yesterday will be there today.  These meetings are necessary and, since we are a non-profit, must be done in order to apply for grants and such so we can keep our doors open.  the process is tedious and grant givers are very particular in what information they want.  Key buzz words have to be used.  Certain points have to be made.  So I'll sit there and interject only if I feel it necessary to get us moving along.
Y'all have an interesting day and remember:  losing doesn't mean you should throw a temper tantrum.    It's unbecoming.

Hang in there, Momlady. Your part is essential, and appreciated.
And yes, temper fits are most unbecoming.

She is lucky to have you to watch her back. Maybe she can do the same for you someday!

A friendly face in the audience never hurts, ya know?

Hey, Baby Sis...thanks for stopping by. I understand you were under the weather and glad to read you are doing better. You're right HJ. Now all I have to figure out is who has mine.
