Friday evening my daughter K, the Evil Genius, and J came up to spend a couple of nights. We were going to do a burn. I've had this big ol' pile of logs and brush for a couple of years, but never had the time to get it burned. Well, we were going to burn come hell or high water. Wouldn't you know the weather forecast called for rain. It did, but mostly as just a drizzle. Kept it nice and cool. What a lovely burn it was, too. Went all day and you could still see some glow Saturday night. There's a little wisp of smoke even now. Once it has cooled down we'll push what was on the very edge and didn't burn into the middle and burn it. What fun! (I'm just a pryomaniac at heart.....runs in the family). I'm glad it's done. Looking forward to clearing that area and growing green stuff even if it's weeds.
Family has gone home and it's very quiet here. Three turkeys in the yard. Think I'll sit out on the porch with a glass of wine and enjoy the evening.

Coffee on the porch in the morning...wine on the porch in the evening! What a way to start and end the day!
All that's needed now is a bit of music in the background! But then again...Mother Nature provides that, doesn't she?
