New Year's day. For some it signals new beginnings, others make resolutions they'll never keep but hope to. To me, it's just another day but with a different date. I resolved many years ago not to make any resolutions. It's one I've kept.
My daughter is going through a tough time right now. I imagine she believes that this year will be as bad as the last. While my heart hurts I can do no more than what I do now. She has a house to live in, electricity and water, and her car insurance is paid up for 6 months. It's going to be up to her and her "someone" to pull themselves out of the hole. It's going to take a lot to get their phones and internet turned back on. Meanwhile we are without communication with one another unless we use the U.S. mail or drive to one another's home.
Enough of that. Today is the day I'm taking down the tree and the lights outside. Laundry awaits as usual and I have some sewing projects to work on.
Y'all have a quiet day and I hope you didn't drink too much last night/this morning. Remember: this is your chance to begin anew, so if you have some habit, etc. you want to get rid of, this is the time to do it. Just make sure you really want to or it will end in futility and frustration. (Geesh, did I really write that?!)

My friend, it seems to me that you have done all you can do.
Times are tough for many of us, and sometimes it gets harder and harder to help others like we want to!
Moral support may be the best kind right about now!
You have a great day...and Happy New Year!
