Tomorrow daughter and family, along with a friend, arrive to celebrate Yule (the Winter Solstice) so I have work to do today. Most of the house is clean but the main living area and kitchen still need work. That'll be taken care of today. Then I'll put up the tiny tree and decorate it. If I feel like it I'll make the peanut butter and birdseed pinecones today so everyone can concentrate on the cranberry-popcorn garland tomorrow for the outside tree. I plan on putting the outside tree where it can be observed from indoors. Could prove interesting.
We'll have our fire, rain or shine. It's always a challenge, it seems, to get it going. The recent rain has soaked the pile so we'll take out some newpaper and some dry basket reed scraps. We've started the fire in the rain in the past so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I'll be turning off the computer while family is here. The kids sleep in this room and the modem has a bright blue light. So you won't be hearing from me for a couple of days, starting Friday. I should be back on Sunday....just in time for the Hermit's 'toons.
Since the 21st is the longest night perhaps you might light a candle or leave a light on to let the world know you honor the light that will be returning. That is, if the world doesn't end (just kidding). I think the Mayans just ran out of room on that stone.
Y'all have a quiet day and remember: he who dies with the most toys.....is still dead.
